Pond

How can we help?

Getting started

Do I need an account?

No. Open Pond, choose what to keep, and start. There's no sign-up, no email and no Pond password: each vault opens with Face ID or a key only you know.

What can I keep in Pond?

In Keys: logins, passkeys, verification codes, payment cards, passports, ID cards, driver's licences, Wi-Fi networks, addresses, notes, to-do lists, FileVault keys, and kinds you make yourself. In Moments: photos and videos. In Archive: any file, and documents you scan.

How do I bring my passwords over?

Open Keys and choose Import, or go to Settings › Your Data › Import. Apple Passwords and Chrome hand them over directly; from other apps, export a file and open it here. Step by step.

How do I stop typing passwords?

Turn on AutoFill once: in Pond, open Settings › AutoFill & Passkeys and tap Open iOS Settings; it takes you to the one switch. After that your logins and two-factor codes wait above the keyboard in every app and website. Step by step.

Can I keep photos off my camera roll?

Yes. Bring them into Moments, then let Pond delete the originals from Photos. From then on they exist only in Pond, behind Face ID. Step by step.

Does Pond work on iPad?

Yes. Every screen is laid out for the iPad. Each device keeps its own vaults; a backup file moves them from one to the other.

Which languages does Pond support?

English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Arabic. It follows your device's language. To change it for Pond alone: Settings › Apps › Pond › Language.

Privacy and security

Where is everything kept?

On your iPhone or iPad, encrypted. There is no Pond account and we keep no copy. Pond also keeps your vaults out of iCloud Backup, so a backup file you make is how they survive a lost phone or move to a new one.

Can anyone at Everease see my things?

No. Your vaults never reach us. We run no server that receives them, so there's nothing for us to see, share or hand over.

Does anything leave my iPhone?

Your vaults don't. A few features you choose reach other services: the breach check sends a short, anonymous fragment of a scrambled password (never the password), website logos come from Brandfetch, and place names on the photo map come from Apple Maps. The privacy policy lists exactly what each one sends.

How do vaults open?

Each vault has its own setting: Face ID, a key only you know, or no lock at all. Each is sealed with its own key, so opening one never opens another. A vault locked with a key also has a recovery key, shown once when you set it up.

What do the lines on top of a vault mean?

Violet means the vault is locked: it opens with Face ID. Red means a login in it needs a look. Yellow means it's one of your favourites. A vault that is more than one shows each colour.

How will I know if a password leaks?

Turn on breach checking in Settings › Privacy & Security. Depth then checks your saved passwords against known breaches and shows the one to change first. With notifications on, you also hear when one turns up in a new breach, or a site you use has one.

Is the clipboard cleared?

Yes. Anything you copy from a vault is wiped from the clipboard 90 seconds later.

Backups and new phones

How do I back up my vaults?

Go to Settings › Your Data › Backup & restore and choose Back up everything, or single vaults. Pond seals them into one .pond file and shows a passphrase that opens it. Keep both safe, apart. Step by step.

How do I move to a new iPhone?

Make a backup in Settings › Your Data. On the new iPhone, install Pond and choose Restore a backup when it starts, then pick the file and type its passphrase.

I lost my phone. Can you recover my vault?

No. Nobody can open your vaults without you, including us, and we never had a copy. Your own backup file restores everything on a new iPhone.

I forgot my backup's passphrase.

The file stays sealed without it, and nobody can open it. If you still have your phone, make a new backup and keep its passphrase somewhere safe.

Do old NovaLockr backups still open?

Yes. Pond is NovaLockr's new name, and backups ending in .novalockr still open.

Disguise and App Lock

How does the disguise work?

In Tools › Disguise, pick a calculator, a clock, the weather or notes, and set its code. Pond's icon changes and it opens as that app, which really works. Calculator: type your code. Clock: set the timer wheels to it. Weather: search for your word. Notes: type your phrase into Search. Step by step.

What if I forget my disguise code?

Type your recovery code instead, the one you were shown when you set the disguise up. It opens the vault the same way.

How do I stop the disguise?

Open Pond through the disguise, go to Tools, tap Disguise, then Turn off. The icon changes back too.

Why does App Lock ask for Screen Time?

App Lock uses Apple's Screen Time to shield the apps you choose. Pond never sees what you do in them.

How do I open an app that App Lock has shut?

Open Pond, go to Tools › App Lock and look at your iPhone. Choose how long the apps stay open; they lock again after that. Step by step.

AutoFill, passkeys and codes

Why doesn't Pond appear above the keyboard?

iOS only offers your logins once Pond is switched on under Settings › General › AutoFill & Passwords. Turn the other password apps off in the same list, since iOS keeps offering from every one that is on.

Does Pond keep passkeys?

Yes. When a site offers a passkey, choose Pond to save it. You sign in with Face ID, and there's no password that can leak.

How do I add a two-factor code?

When a site shows a QR code for two-factor, open Pond's Vault tab, tap ••• › Verification codes › Add a code, and scan it. Imported logins bring their codes with them. Step by step.

Why isn't Face ID offered?

Check that Face ID is set up on your iPhone, then go to Settings › Face ID & Passcode › Other Apps and make sure Pond is on.

Membership and billing

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Pond is free to download and the membership starts with a free trial. You'll see the price for your country in the App Store before you start.

Can my family use it?

Yes. With Family Sharing, up to five people in your family can use Pond on your membership, at no extra cost. Each person's vaults stay their own.

How do I cancel?

In your iPhone's Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Pond. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews to avoid the next charge. Your vaults stay on your phone.

I subscribed, but the app doesn't show it.

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account, then tap Restore purchases in Pond.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Community and contact

Where can I suggest a feature?

How do I report a problem?

In Pond, go to Settings › Help & About › Report a problem. Your app version and iPhone model go with it, and nothing else.
