How to move photos out of your camera roll into Pond

Open Moments in Pond, tap + and choose Import from Library. Pick the photos, let Pond delete the originals from your camera roll, then empty Recently Deleted.

  1. Open Moments

    On Pond's Vault tab, tap Moments and look at your iPhone. No Moments vault yet? Tap + at the top and create one.

  2. Bring them in

    Tap +, then Import from Library, and pick the photos and videos. They're copied in and encrypted, on your iPhone.

  3. Let Pond remove the originals

    When Pond offers to delete them from your camera roll, accept. iOS asks you to confirm, because only you can delete photos from your library.

  4. Empty Recently Deleted

    Photos keeps deleted pictures for up to 30 days. Open Recently Deleted, tap Select, then Delete All.

  5. Shoot straight into Pond

    New photos taken with Pond Camera never touch your camera roll. Open it from Moments or Control Center, or set Camera Control to open it.

Good to know

iCloud Photos

With iCloud Photos on, deleting a photo removes it from your other devices too. That's usually what you want here, but check first.

Make a backup

Your vaults stay out of iCloud Backup. A Pond backup file is how your photos survive a lost phone.

Questions

Do photos in Pond take extra space?

About the same as in Photos. Moments shows what takes the space, and finds exact copies and near-copies you can clear.

Can I put a photo back in my camera roll?

Yes. Open it in Moments and share it, then choose Save Image.

Does Moments keep videos?

Yes, videos as well as photos.
