How to hide photos on iPhone

Open the photo, tap ••• and choose Hide. It moves to the Hidden album, which iPhone locks with Face ID.

  1. Open the photo

    In the Photos app, open the photo or video you want to hide. To hide several at once, tap Select and choose them.

  2. Tap Hide

    Choose Hide from the menu, then confirm. The photo leaves your library, your albums and your widgets.

  3. Find it again

    Scroll to the bottom of Photos. Under Utilities, open Hidden. iPhone asks for Face ID first.

  4. Lock the album

    In Settings, make sure Use Face ID is on. Turn off Show Hidden Album to remove the album from Photos completely.

Your passcode opens it

Anyone who knows your iPhone passcode can open the Hidden album.

It syncs

With iCloud Photos on, hidden photos appear in the Hidden album on your other devices too.
